What does a mountain enthusiast look for in their boots today? Above all, versatility, and the Duke Mid GTX, the first shoe in the new Hiking Advanced category from Kayland, is the perfect answer.

SOLE
The mountaineering DNA of Kayland flows through the Duke Mid GTX: the sole unit features a significant increase in the EVA midsole and has been specifically designed to provide maximum comfort and cushioning - even on the toughest terrain.
The foot rests directly on the double-density EVA midsole, which has a soft contact area. This is combined with a high-density ESS zone, placed just above the outsole, designed to provide optimal shock absorption and visible through the openings of the Vibram® Duke sole.
The outsole is equipped with grip stud technology: a sole pattern specifically designed for diverse terrains, including stones, gravel, and grass, ensuring better traction underfoot.
The front of the shoe features a climbing zone, ideal for more demanding trails or via ferratas, while the rubber bumper and extended wings on the sole protect the foot and provide better shock absorption.

UPPER AND LINING
The Duke Mid GTX features a fabric upper with seamless PU inserts and a Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane laminated directly on top. This special construction technique ensures that the weight is kept to a minimum. The mesh collar is protected by laminated polyurethane and has a rear wing that flexes perfectly with the ankle's movement.

Impact protection is ensured through the Overlasting construction of Kayland combining a polyurethane shell, which fully protects the front of the foot, and an extended sole length that wraps around the front of the shoe to provide additional impact protection.

The lacing system is precise and comfortable with tape eyelets and hooks to ensure that the laces stay in place throughout your hike.
