The ALPINE UP is the most complete and universal belay-descender ever made, suitable for mountain use with double, twin or single ropes. Extremely versatile, it allows abseiling in self-locking mode and offers three belay modes depending on the terrain.

The click-up (assisted manual braking) mode enables :

belaying the premier on multi-pitch sport climbing routes (equipped with spits and pins);
self-locking abseiling using the pivoting lever;
absolute safety even if the rope has been installed the wrong way round.

Dynamic mode (manual braking) allows :

belaying the premier rope on mountaineering routes or icefalls (protected by friends, jammers or pitons);
effective, adjustable braking thanks to V-shaped braking grooves;
abseiling using V-shaped braking grooves.

Guide mode allows :

independent, self-locking belaying of one or two seconds ;
the possibility of unlocking and gradually lowering a second climber while the rope is under tension, by inserting the carabiner of a quickdraw into the hole provided.

The ALPINE UP must be used with the carabiner supplied, the CONCEPT SGL HC, which has an anti-wear anodized surface treatment and features the ACL system to prevent any work on the small axis.
