Climbing belayer Click Up+

CLICK UP+ is an innovative belay device with manual braking: the evolution of the CLICK UP already on the market for seven years. Specially designed for indoor and crag climbing, it can be used with all Ø 8.5÷11 mm dynamic single ropes. Compact and lightweight, it can be used to belay both lead and top-roped climbers.

The following features make the new CLICK UP a real +:

• more efficiency and fluidity when giving slack, smoothly and rapide (Fig. 3), thanks to the new shell geometry and carabiner retention system (patent pending);
• more comfort when belaying in top-roping, even with indoor climbing ropes, thanks to the new cheek geometry;
• safer, thanks to the V-Proof system (patented), which reduces the risk of the free end of the rope being incorrectly positioned during the locking phase (Fig. 1-2);
• more ergonomic thanks to the new shape of the outer shell.

Like the previous model :

• it allows you to stop a fall by holding the free end of the rope with one hand;
• to lower the climber, simply apply slight pressure to the device with the thumb or hand, while maintaining tension on the free end of the rope with the other hand;
• the V-shaped braking grooves (Fig. 4) ensure effective belaying even if the rope is incorrectly inserted into the device (rope sides reversed).

V-PROOF SYSTEM

When climbing a route, there are phases that are particularly critical for the belayer (giving slack to the climber or swallowing the rope). If the climber falls at this precise moment, it is normally necessary to ensure that the two rope strands always form the largest possible (obtuse) angle (V) on either side of the belay device. Reducing this angle could have an impact on the proper functioning of the belay device when the rope is locked.
The V-Proof system on the CLICK UP+ limits the risk of reducing the "V" angle between the two strands of rope.
This is a valve that activates the assisted braking system. In the event of a fall, if the free end of the rope comes into contact with the valve (Fig. 1), it promotes rotation of the belay device and consequently jamming of the rope (Fig. 2).

The CLICK UP+ is supplied with and must be used with the dedicated HMS CONCEPT SGL HC carabiner, anodized with anti-wear treatment and ACL system that prevents any possibility of working on the small axis.
