Effectively protect your horse's hooves with the care paste KERALIT Undercover, for better performance in all your equestrian activities.
KERALIT Undercover is a care paste designed to prevent the breakdown of the white line horn, the frog, the sole, and the bars, as well as white line disease. This paste is ideal for horses kept in open stables on very wet ground! Wherever it is applied, the material becomes rot-proof. It is particularly suitable for orthopedic shoes with silicone inserts and pads. It provides protection throughout the shoeing period. KERALIT Undercover can be used by both the farrier and the horse owner.
Usage by the farrier:
During trimming, decayed and detached areas are removed with a knife to form a U shape. The shoe is then placed on top like a lid over the groove. Scrape deeper notches with a horse shoe nail to remove as much rotten and detached material as possible. The paste KERALIT Undercover is then applied with a spatula into the cavities created. When shoeing with a plate and silicone insert, the sole and the frog should also be lightly coated. Continue with the shoeing as usual.
You can easily treat the frog area and defects in the white line yourself. The product is also ideal for free-stall systems in humid environments. Treatment is only necessary once or twice a week since the paste KERALIT Undercover stays well in the cavities for several days. Prior cleaning of the gaps with a spatula and cellulose is critical for the result. Using a spatula or a gloved finger, push the paste as deeply as possible into the gaps and cavities.
When applied correctly, the paste KERALIT Undercover will stay in the hoof for several days, during which it creates a rot-proof environment, even in free-stall systems in humid conditions!
