The ELI Teen is the large racket from the ELI series by Talbot-Torro (for children around 8 to 10 years old). It features an isometric head with an enlarged sweet spot for error-tolerant play (in case of off-centre hits). Thanks to its short handle, the racket (only 63 cm) is easy for juniors to handle, lighter, and keeps contact with the ground at bay. The learning grip is special, ovalized, making it uncomfortable in the hand if the racket is held incorrectly (known as the frying pan grip). Additionally, all ELI rackets are equipped with an innovative grip concept that uses coloured markings to show the student the correct finger positions for forehand and backhand shots (self-check). The colour difference between the two sides of the racket also allows the coach or teacher to monitor the grip from the outside (external control).

The robust construction with a tempered steel shaft and lightweight aluminium head is about 20g lighter than a pure steel racket and much more manoeuvrable. Weight including strings: approximately 95g, recommended maximum string tension: 7 kg. With the ELI concept specially designed for children and beginners (Easy Learning Initiative), Talbot-Torro fosters young talent early on. This concept was developed by Talbot-Torro in collaboration with former national badminton team coach Holger Hasse. The ELI concept is the evolution and enhancement of the popular BISI series from Talbot-Torro, which has been a benchmark in school badminton for over a decade. The smooth transition from "ELI Mini" (from around 4 years old) to "ELI Junior" (from around 6 years old) and "ELI Teen" (from 8-10 years old) to "ELI Advanced" (from 10 years old) allows for learning that is progressively tailored to the needs of each age group. In addition to the 4 different rackets, the overall ELI concept also includes the ELI Ball. A very robust, high-quality durable nylon shuttle with a foam base.
