Along with Tom's father, who was also a cyclist, Jobst was an important mentor to Tom - faithfully sharing his vast engineering wisdom while actively influencing Tom's riding. Uniquely tied to the thrill of experience and exploration, Jobst and Tom's tires rode for decades on many different surfaces during the same ride. It was these adventures with Jobst that inspired the Alpine JB tire.

This unique bicycle tire is designed to ride wherever your two-wheeled travels take you. It rides beautifully on smooth country roads, but has enough tread to gracefully navigate low-maintenance municipal roads or long stretches of gravel.

The Alpine JB boasts a TPI of 120, is tubeless-ready, and uses the unique VFA tread design - a pattern that is primarily embedded in the tire's rubber, rather than relying on protruding knobs typically found on this type of tire. Thanks to the inverted tread, rolling resistance is smoother compared to traditional studded tires, but grip and confidence remain inherent features. An added benefit is that the Alpine JBe is more durable because there are no knobs to wear out.
