Description

Battery Coupling Relay RCB+

12 & 24 VDC // With adjustable knobs (from 50 to 120 A)

With the increasing use of Lithium (LiFePo4) batteries for onboard service systems, compatibility between different battery types has become a major issue. Indeed, the coexistence of starting batteries, often lead-acid, and Lithium batteries for services requires specific management of energy flows, particularly during the operation of the alternator. The RCB+ relay from CRISTEC addresses this issue by ensuring an effective and secure connection between these two types of batteries. This device is capable of managing the current coming from the alternator by limiting it towards the service battery, while prioritising the recharge of the starting battery.

The user can adjust this limit between 50 and 120A (depending on the model), thus ensuring flexibility according to system needs. This precise management helps to preserve the alternator while optimising battery recharging.

USAGE TIP

It is recommended to keep about 30% of the alternator's capacity for the starting battery. For example, for a 110 Ah alternator, you can set the limit to 70A for the service. This type of adjustment ensures that the alternator is not overloaded, thereby increasing its lifespan.

  • Current limiting can be adjusted using a rotary encoder from 50A to 120A with a precision screwdriver
  • A quick, complete, and stabilised charge
  • Compact: 159 x 100 x 36 mm / 0.45kg
