Airbag vest for children

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP is a protective vest specially designed for horse riding to shield the rider's vital areas in case of a fall. It can be worn over a thin layer of clothing (t-shirt, sweatshirt, or thin jumper) or over a jacket.

France is the first country to adopt a standard regulating the manufacturing of riding airbags as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While awaiting European harmonisation, the NF S72-800-2022 standard ensures enhanced protection by defining strict criteria for the protective surface, inflation speed, and impact tests.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP is the first riding airbag vest to be certified according to this standard, achieving necessary pressure and complete inflation for optimal protection in just 98 milliseconds (for size S), exceeding the standard's requirements. In addition to meeting safety requirements, the AIRBAG FREEJUMP stands out for its ability to withstand horizontal impacts while providing exceptional protection against longitudinal impacts to the spine.

Optimised protection area.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP offers optimised protection for the neck, back, lower back, sacrum, pelvis, and chest. It takes into account the wearing of a certified riding helmet and includes a stabilising neck brace to protect the spine and vital areas.

Protection of the neck, chest, and back is tailored to each size, ensuring coverage of 24% of the chest circumference and 100% of the back length from waist to shoulder for the chest, and 20% of the chest circumference and 120% of the back length from waist to shoulder for the back.

Lateral protection ensures perfect alignment of the torso, while the spine, pelvis, hips, and vital organs benefit from reinforced protection thanks to two bust heights for sizes XS, S, M, and L, available in regular or long versions.

Comfort and performance.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP is made from soft, perforated Italian fabrics around the sides, providing exceptional comfort and ventilation. Its fitted cut and design with soft materials ensure optimal protection and maximum comfort.

The safety cord is equipped with a textile loop to avoid noise when it comes into contact with the clip of the cord with the ball chain.

Compatibility.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP vest is designed to be worn both over and under a compatible jacket. The NF S-72-800-2022 standard requires an official compatibility test by CRITT for all jackets worn over an airbag. The AIRBAG FREEJUMP vest has been tested by CRITT, ensuring its compliance and safety.

While awaiting a possible evolution of the standard during its European harmonisation, FREEJUMP guarantees that all jackets compatible with airbags from other brands certified NF S72-800-2022 are also compatible with the AIRBAG FREEJUMP vest and PÉNÉLOPE.

The proper functioning of the AIRBAG FREEJUMP is guaranteed regardless of the compatible jacket used, as long as the cable comes out from underneath the jacket (and not through the jacket via a possible hole designed for that purpose).

To ensure maximum protection and optimal comfort for riders, the FREEJUMP clothing range, including the competition jackets MONA and MAX, the sleeveless jackets KLOE and KARL, the rain jackets MADDY and MATT, and the hoodie MALLORY, has been specially designed to be compatible with the AIRBAG FREEJUMP vest when worn underneath. These garments use durable and stretchy fabrics that allow the vest to regain its original shape after inflation.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP vest is also compatible with models developed by many other equestrian textile brands including: PIKEUR, VESTRUM, PÉNÉLOPE, KERRITS, JUMP'IN, STRUCK, SCHOCKEMOHLE, EAST, TOMMY HILFIGER, VISION APPAREL, GEM and CAVALLO.

Sizes and custom fit.

The AIRBAG FREEJUMP is available in children's sizes S and L and in adult sizes ranging from XXS to XXL, with two options for sizes XS to L: regular or long (indicated as "T" in the size) to offer a perfect fit, even for taller individuals. For example, size XS in long version is called XST.

Children’s sizes S and L are suitable for children weighing at least 25 kg and measuring a minimum of 130 cm. From size XXS onwards, the AIRBAG FREEJUMP is suitable for individuals measuring at least 1.45m and weighing a minimum of 35 kg.
