Surprised by the parade of 100 demons (Hyakki yakö), players try to reach their pagoda before the evil Yokaïs arrive.

At each turn of the game, they must choose, from 6 locations (Japanese prints), the path that brings them closer to safety. To guide one another, players must create haikus that attempt to describe the desired location.

A haiku is a short Japanese poem of 3 lines. It evokes emotions, wonder, and the passage of time.

Objective of the game: Describe a print to the other players using a small poem of three lines.

Haïku is a cooperative game where players play together against the Yokaï demons.

At each turn of the game, 6 Japanese prints are presented to the players. Each secretly chooses one and then tries to make the other players guess it by composing a haiku (mini-poem of 3 lines).

The player must use 3 of the 16 lines available to them. One after another, each player reads their haiku. The other players then must discuss and decide which print inspired the poem.

If successful, the players move closer to their pagoda.

If unsuccessful, it’s the Yokaïs that move closer.

The players win if they reach the pagoda and its safety before the demons.
