Ando Hiroshige (1798-1858) is considered the last great master of ukiyo-e. Among his most famous works, the 53 Stations of the Tōkaidō describe from 1832 the 53 stages of the traveler wishing to take the 500 km road connecting then Edo (now Tokyo) to Kyoto.

These prints bear witness to these landscapes that have now disappeared, but also to the atmospheres that prevailed there at the time.
