Every landscape photographer uses filters - they enable a creative approach to photography, which makes them extremely practical. The filters you can use with the Irix 15mm f/2.4 lens are all 95mm filters, such asIrix Edge : UV & Protector, which protects your lens from damage.

Circular polarizing filter - cuts unwanted reflections and increases photo clarity. It can be used for shots with effects that are difficult or impossible to achieve in post-prod.

Neutral density filter - reduces the amount of light reaching thecamera sensor, enabling the use of slower shutter speeds. This type of filter is particularly important if you want to achieve a motion blur effect or use fixed focal length lenses at full aperture in daylight.

The Irix Edge IFH-100 filter holder lets you extend your camera 's capabilities with graded neutral density filters with different coatings: "soft", "hard" and "reverse". By cutting out some of the light from the brightest part of the image, you can take photos even in the most difficult lighting conditions.

No matter whether you're traversing the hot sands of the Sahara or the icy expanse of Antarctica - Irix lenses never shy away from a challenge.
The sealing system has been designed to protect the inside of the lens from moisture, dust and sand. Just as importantly, the lens does not change its dimensions when focusing point, eliminating the risk of dirt particles being carried into the internal structure. These properties not only enable you to work in demanding conditions, but also guarantee the cleanliness of the camera's mirror chamber sensor .

Thanks to years of experience in optical design, Irix lenses are characterized by excellent resolution, minimal distortion (2%) and low vignetting. The Irix 15 mm f/2.4 lens has 16 elements arranged in 10 groups: 4 refractive elements, 2 ED elements and 3 aspherical elements. The focusing distance point is just 28 cm, which, in combination with the f/2.4 light and 9 rounded aperture blades, makes thelens stand out with extremely smooth bokeh and incredible perspective.

ONE LENS - TWO VERSIONS

TheIrix 15 mm f/2.4 is available in two versions: Firefly and Blackstone.

Firefly - Lightweight composite construction, with a non-slip rubber-coated point focusing ring, for smooth, precise point focusing. A soft pouch is supplied with thelens.

Blackstone - Reinforced all-metal construction. All lens markings are engraved and filled with a UV-reactive paint for easy focusing point in dark environments. A hard case is included with thelens.

INTELLIGENT LENS DESIGN

The Irix 15 mm f/2.4 lens features a module that lets you control thelens diaphragm directly from thecamera, thanks to semi-automatic modes (PASM) and EXIF data recording.

The use of electronics also enables thelens to be equipped with a focus confirmation system point - thecamera announces the correct focus setting point (as an icon in the viewfinder or with a sound), every time you set the focus correctly point - it's simple and convenient!

It's worth noting that Irix lenses have the appropriate correction profiles pre-loaded and readable by software (such as Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop), which will make your shooting experience even more enjoyable.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Patented"Infinity Click" function - When the focus ring point is positioned on the infinity setting, there is an easily identifiable "click" (infinity click) allowing you to know your position at infinity intuitively, without having to look. This feature is ideal for night photography.

PatentedFocus Lock - The patented Focus Lock point locks the focus ring to prevent accidental rotation in difficult shooting situations. This feature is ideal for hiking and street photography.

95 mm front filter thread - Allows you to use screw-on filters such as Irix Edge UV & Protector, Irix Edge Circular Polarizer, Irix Edge ND and Irix Edge Light Pollution Filter and autres.

Compatible with the Irix Edge IFH-100 filter holder - Allows you to expand your creativity with gradient neutral density filters with different coatings: "soft", "hard" and "reverse".

Gelatin filter compartment - In addition to a thread on the front, thelens is equipped with a 30x30 mm gelatin filter slot on the rear, allowing 2 filters to be used at the same time.

Removable window - The lens hood is equipped with a groove that allows filters to be rotated without having to remove it.

Calibrating the focusing scale point - Every Irix lens is correctly calibrated at the factory. However, it is possible to calibrate the focus scale point using the housing.
