The Irix 21mm f/1.4lens is another in a series of photographic lenses from the Cine line, designed for much more professional and demanding users in the cinema market. The photographic and cinematographic versions of this lens have exactly the same structure optics. The main differences concern the outer casing and the available mounts.

TOP-QUALITY OPTICS

The optical construction of the Irix 21mm f / 1.4 lens is based on 4 ultra-low dispersion glass lenses, 4 high refraction lenses and 2 aspherical lenses. There are a total of 15 elements in 11 optical blocks. The lens is designed to work with the latest generation of 35mm full-frame sensors, i.e. with high resolution. Great importance has been attached to limiting distortion to the necessary minimum. It is no more than 2%, so in practice it is imperceptible. This means you can use this lens successfully for all kinds of architectural photography . What's more, the combination of a very large relative aperture - f/1.4 - with a well-controlled coma makes it ideal for astrophotography. Also noteworthy is the use of a new 11-blade diaphragm with rounded edges, which ensures a pleasing and highly artistic bokeh of the background. It operates in a range from f/1.4 to f/16.

READY FOR ALL CONDITIONS

Irix lenses are appreciated by professionals who want to be able to work in all weather conditions. That's why, for our most demanding customers, the lens is equipped with special seals that prevent moisture and dirt from penetrating inside. A special bayonet mount gasket also protects the camera's mirror chamber. A dedicated lens hood mainly reduces unwanted light reflections, but also serves as protection for the front lens. When not in use, the lens can be safely stored in a dedicated hard case.

Thelens housing is a continuation of the Dragonfly manufacturing standard familiar from previousIrix models. Its most important aspects are:

• A reinforced internal structure based on metal elements.
• Scratch-resistant finish
• Non-slip setting ring point with special finish for easy setting point
• Engraved markings filled with UV-reactive paint

ELECTRONICS COMPATIBLE

The Irix 21mm f/1.4lens features electronic controls that let you control aperture directly from the camera, making semi-automatic modes (PASM) and EXIF data recording available. This makes your work easier and faster, while also enabling the use of correction profiles in the post-production process.

The use of electronics in the lens also makes it possible to equip the lens with a focus confirmation system point - the camera informs you of the correct focus point (in the form of an icon in the viewfinder or a sound) every time you focus point correctly.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Focusing ring point - A special point focusing ring with a distinctive shape has become something of a trademark of the Irix 150mm and 45mm lenses. Many of our customers pay attention to the convenience it provides. The latest Irix 30mm follows the same path. A special texture and a well-chosen rubber material covering it enable reliable and precise focusing point. Special embossing lets you feel the position of the ring. This makes setting point even easier!

Focus Lock" function - The "Focus Lock" function is also a feature of Irix lenses - it allows you to lock the focusing ring point in a specific position. This is particularly useful when you want to maintain a specific distance from the object being photographed (zone focusing point ), or when you want to maintain perfect focus point to infinity in landscape photography or astrophotography.
