How does SpeedBox 1.1 for Bosch work?

To properly activate all functions of SpeedBox, after switching on the electric bike for the first time, you need to enter the menu and view the wheel circumference of your electric bike.

Activating/deactivating the tuning should always be done before riding, not during the journey!

For correct activation of all functions of SpeedBox, after switching on the electric bike with the SpeedBox installed, you must enter the menu and access the wheel circumference value.

To activate the SpeedBox 1.1 chip, briefly activate the WALK function on the electric bike's control unit (press and hold the "-" button). The electric bike's screen will briefly show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and from that moment on, you can ride at a speed of 35 km/h. You can set the default speed limit to any limit (up to 99 km/h), but to minimise the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.

To deactivate the chip function, reactivate the WALK function (press and hold the "-" button). The screen will display 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the speed limit of 25 km/h will be reactivated. The electric bike will operate as it did before the chip was installed.

We also thought of electric bikes that do not have an available or active WALK function. In this case, you can activate or deactivate the tuning by switching between two modes twice, i.e. by pressing the buttons "- + - +".

The maximum assistance speed can be changed again by adjusting the modes from TURBO down three levels then up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. The current speed limit will then be displayed. To change the maximum speed, activate/deactivate the WALK function or rotate the wheel 360°. The display 2.5 km/h corresponds to the limit 25 km/h, 2.5 corresponds to 25 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.

After riding the bike, leave the electric bike switched on for a while until SpeedBox completes the "countdown" process (the travel time will continue to display until it stops and shows the correct distance covered) to avoid detection of the Speedbox setting on your e-bike.

Installation

To connect the SpeedBox chip to an electric bike, we use colour-coded connectors equipped with a key for proper connection, making the installation of the chip really easy. You can download the instructions or watch videos that will guide you to install SpeedBox. Removing the chip is just as easy as installing it. If you want SpeedBox on a new bike, you must first ride a minimum of 10 kilometres.

Connect the male - female connectors in the direction of the lock. Do not twist the connectors while connecting!
