Using the solar multi-cooker SUNGOOD® 360
Principle
The SUNGOOD® uses the principle of concentrated solar energy: the rays of the sun are reflected by mirrors and concentrated on the collector for optimal temperature rise. When cooking with the Suntube® collector, heat increases quickly in the tube and is maintained thanks to a double wall that provides effective insulation. When using the Cook UP pot, the temperature rises gradually for gentle cooking. Heat is then preserved thanks to the cooking bag that maintains a constant temperature.
What weather conditions?
With cooking using the Suntube®, you can cook even on overcast days, although cooking times will be extended. With Cook UP cooking, full sun is necessary, meaning that shadows from people and objects must be clearly visible on the ground. The cooker SUNGOOD® concentrates the sun's rays and turns them into heat, so it works in any season and outside temperature. It can be used in still conditions, but in light breezes, it can be stabilised with pegs or by placing a weight on its rear wings.
What recipes?
The SUNGOOD® 360 adapts to all your recipes. It comes with two complementary cooking modes, the Suntube® collector and the Cook UP pot for varied solar cooking. With the Suntube® container, cooking reaches a temperature of 180°C to 240°C for a quick temperature rise and searing cooking of food. With the Cook UP pot (placed in its cooking bag), the temperature reaches 100°C to 120°C for gentle cooking that releases food flavour and preserves nutrients. The SUNGOOD® 360 warms, cooks, and steams: vegetables, meats, breads, fish, cakes (etc.). Regardless of your cooking mode, it’s essential to cut all food into pieces for optimal cooking. Expect about 30 min for bread, 1 h for a cake or vegetables (leeks, potatoes, carrots...), 1 h 30 to 2 h for meat and fish.
Where to use it?
The SUNGOOD® cooker is foldable and ultra-slim, fitting into any type of bag, on the back of your bike, in your van (etc.). Ultra-light, it is ideal for your outdoor outings, picnics, walks, trips, and in your garden! It sets up in 1 minute, without tools, and is just as easy to store. Since it works solely on sunlight, it emits no smoke or flame, giving it the advantage of being usable anywhere: gardens, mountains, beaches, campsites, balconies (etc.). Its gentle cooking allows for cooking without supervision, so you can go swimming, play games, or take a walk; when you return, it will be ready!
In Practice!
1° / Unfold the SUNGOOD®, clip the upper and lower parts of the cooker to form a parabolic shape.
2/ Prepare your recipe. In the Suntube®: place all your cut ingredients in the rack and then slide the rack into the Suntube®. In the Cook UP pot: place all your cut ingredients in the pot and then place the pot in the cooking bag* (keep the cooking bag closed until the end of cooking to retain heat).
3°/ Set up the Suntube® collector: place the Suntube® on the wooden supports, secure it to the supports using the straps, then place the whole setup in the centre of the cooker. Setting up the Cook UP pot: assemble the pot stand, place the pot in its cooking bag (necessary for temperature rise), and position the whole setup in the centre of the cooker.
4°/ Aim the SUNGOOD® cooker at the sun. Adjust the cooker every 30 min according to the sun’s movement.
5°/ At the end of cooking, remove the Suntube® from the cooker with its supports to place it on your table, or take the Cook UP pot out of its cooking bag. It’s ready!
